Chicago

Brass Sax, I like the reflections in the brass, they are complicated, and maybe I need to try this again.

Cozy

The reflection in the window at night show the city life and lights of the buildings across the street.

Sheep blending into the landscape

What struck me on this image, a photo I took near  Kivik on the Baltic coast, is that the sheep blend perfectly  into the landscape. There are centuries of fine tuning evolution at work, until everything is just right. Like the ultimate craftsman, never ceasing to refine his craft.

I only wish we could work with this intensity, consistency, and endurance at our craft.

What ever happened to hammer and nails?

This week's still life included a trip to the basement looking for something  to paint. And we found a bunch of old keys.

Beware of the idle artist, lock you basement door.

The Peace Makers

I have seen the face of evil men and people at war. But what does the face of Peace look like?

Time in a Bottle

This weeks painting theme was glass. On the right you see a reflection of the outside world, the capture of ... time in a bottle.

Blop ... blop

A great feeling to be under water in the pool, all sounds are muffled, all things are blue, and I only hear my own bubbles floating up.

Well, there isn't much more to say, besides, that this is a painting of a cracked egg on a black plate.

Could it be any more Out of the Way

This is a danish farm converted into a retreat hotel. 3 km from the Baltic Sea, secluded in the woods, excellent food and beautiful country.
http://www.drakamollan.se/

We took the bus to get there, and the bus station where we got off, was in the the middle of nowhere. We thought we landed in the set of Northern Exposure. From there we had to walk a km into the woods.

I saw this yellow house on our way to the Oresund, and painted it from memory.

It gives such a feeling of going home, but of course this is not our home.

Vegetables documented

Onions and apples

My friend Ann calls these little still lives ... vegetables documented. While I agree, they are still useful exercises, as the musician does scales, the artist paints veggies.

I wonder what the neighbor is wearing

This is our kitchen window, and it looks into the building across the street's window. Sometimes the neighbor is wearing ... nothing.

I am sick today, staying home from work and painting quietly my cozy surroundings.

I can't Believe I Live Here

Our apartment is under to roof in an old (1900) building. The roof is red as can be, and there is an onion in the corner. The windows you see is our living room. To get this view I stand on our terrace and look around the corner.
