This is a danish farm converted into a retreat hotel. 3 km from the Baltic Sea, secluded in the woods, excellent food and beautiful country. http://www.drakamollan.se/
We took the bus to get there, and the bus station where we got off, was in the the middle of nowhere. We thought we landed in the set of Northern Exposure. From there we had to walk a km into the woods.
My friend Ann calls these little still lives ... vegetables documented. While I agree, they are still useful exercises, as the musician does scales, the artist paints veggies.
This is from my graphite sketch of the little church in Kandersteg. I stick with my three colors, and did this very quickly in the akvarell class by Måns Sjöberg: http://manssjoberg.blogspot.com/
Nowadays I use only the tree colors: winsor blue, winsor yellow, and permanent alyzarin. Now I have a super small painting kit with only these three colors, one brush size 10, an H pencil and an eraser.
Our apartment is under to roof in an old (1900) building. The roof is red as can be, and there is an onion in the corner. The windows you see is our living room. To get this view I stand on our terrace and look around the corner.
