Jeff Watts Atelier 'Portrait Phase I'

I signed up for the Jeff Watts Atelier on-line classes. I very much like his these thorough courses. These are my exercises from the 'Portrait Phase I' class.

The Jeff Watts Aterlier can be found here http://www.wattsatelier.com/. He starts with the very fundamentals of drawing and shows you how to sharpen a charcoal pencil. This may sound trivial, but it is extremely useful to know. At the Swedish Academy of Realist Art, it was essential and drilled into us that the charcoal needs to be sharpened with a long thin point. And this is just the very first step.

Painting with Cows (just like Swimming with Dolphins)

# 768
watercolor on paper
23 x 30 cm

I was all set up and ready to paint the quaint little cottage, when this heard of cows came, sniffed at my painting supplies, and laid down in the middle of my scene. They absolutely wanted to be in the painting, there was no persuading them to move. They stayed for a couple of hours, very peaceful, very nice and comfortable. I don't think I can eat beef anymore (hello vegans).😉
